His first generative work Amoeba was installed at NYU for 2 months in early 2001 and was shown at Dorkbot NYC in March 2001. SixFans was installed at NYU from September - December 2001.
Dean was awarded the Interactive Telecommunications Program Research Fellowship for the educational year 2001 - 2002.
Fanswing is currently on display at NYU. His works SixFans and Amoeba were selected for display at the IV International Festival of Digital Art in Havana Cuba in July 2002. Amoeba was selected for performance at New Yorks Sunday New Genre on Sunday August 18th. Both SixFans and Amoeba were selected for display at Digital Dumbo in Sept 2002. His work has since been seen in LA at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as well as varous venues; in LA, Brooklyn, Long Island, Old Havana Cuba and Minneapolis MN.
